This is a catch-up post. I’m terribly behind on all the things I’ve wanted to share with you. I have been sick for over a week with a stomach virus that turned into an infection and I’ve lost whole days, but thanks to the very capable hands of my husband, my niece and some very kind out-of-town guests that were pressed into service, my kids have been well taken care of and my house is fairly in order. I resurfaced around Saturday, feeling better, but then sunk again on Sunday, ill again, but this time from the side-effects of medication. I’m currently running at about 60% but trying to get back into the swing of things. So, here we go….
Facebook. When I went to share some posts with you all on facebook last week, I noticed this little “promote” button and some statistics on my facebook page. Apparently, facebook has decided to only share my posts with about 30% of the people who have “liked” my page…
Unless, I pay facebook money for each and every post…
I love interacting with my readers on facebook. I was shocked and saddened that despite everyone’s efforts to follow along with what I’m writing about, via this social networking tool, most are not able to see what we are up to. I also like to follow lots of other blogs and websites this way and want to make sure I’m getting their updates. So, here’s what you can do:
Go to the Creekside Learning facebook page (or any other page you want to appear in your news feed) and hover your mouse over the “Liked” box in the upper right corner. A drop down box should appear. Click on “Show in News Feed”.
Also, the more posts you “like” or leave a comment on, the more frequently posts from my page (or whoever’s page your are liking or commenting on) will appear in your feed.
Creekside Travels Ok, moving on. The Creekside family has some exciting trips coming up. A wonderful family reunion which sprung up impromptu and then the husband and I will be taking our very first trip together without kids, in eight years– since we had our first child, actually. Woo hoo! Can you tell I am very excited about this?
So, I am hoping to feature some guest posts from other terrific bloggers who can bring you all some fun learning activities while I am gone. More about that soon.
What We’ve Been Learning In the meantime, I blogged about a few things but haven’t given them much attention so I want to make sure you’ve seen the fun we had with crickets at the Virtual Book Club. Check out all the other families that read Eric Carle’s The Very Quiet Cricket, too, and the activities they did.
I also was pleased to guest post over at Not Just Cute while Amanda was busy loving on her newborn son. Love Bug and I had fun making a worm house and spending some special Mommy-Love Bug time together. Go check out the glimpse of his pudgy cheeks as he digs in the dirt.
Kids Co-Op I missed out on posting this week’s Kids Co-Op while I was sick. But there are lots of other blogs who share this wonderful linky each week, such at Nurture Store.
Thanks for hanging in there with me!
